Why clients book Jay's Focus Media
Photography That Does a Job for You
Good pictures are the start. What matters is what they do next: sell the house, book the cottage, win the client or hang on the wall for years.
Everything in One Visit
Interiors, exteriors, drone aerials and video captured in a single appointment, so you deal with one person and one invoice.
Sized for Where It's Going
Files prepared for Rightmove, Zoopla, Airbnb, your website, print and every social platform, so nothing needs reworking.
Budget & Plan with Confidence
Bronze, Silver and Gold packages with a fixed quote before the shoot: the price you agree is the price you pay. You know exactly what you'll receive and when, so you can budget and plan for it.
Run Like a Project
Nearly 30 years in cloud and AI technology means shoots are planned, drone flights are checked against local airspace, and deadlines are kept.
Property Photography for Estate Agents & Holiday Lets
Buyers and guests make up their minds in the first few photos. Bright, true-to-life interiors, drone aerials of the grounds and setting, and short walkthrough reels give your listing the best possible first impression, and give people a reason to book a viewing or a stay.
- Estate Agents. Reliable turnaround, consistent quality across every instruction, and aerials that win vendor appointments – all in a single visit to reduce the impact on the vendor.
- Holiday-let & Airbnb Owners. Photos that sell the experience, plus seasonal refreshes so your listing looks right from spring blossom to winter log fires.
Listing Essentials
Up to 20 professionally edited interior and exterior photos, with straight verticals, balanced light and true-to-life colour. Sized for Rightmove, Zoopla, Airbnb and print, and delivered electronically within 48 hours.
Listing & Aerial
Everything in Bronze, plus drone aerials showing the grounds, the setting and what's nearby, such as the coast, countryside or village. Also includes a 30-second vertical reel for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Every flight is planned and checked against local airspace rules.
Full Presentation
Everything in Silver, plus a video walkthrough that takes viewers room by room, twilight exteriors that make your lead image stand out in search results, and a clear floor plan. The complete package for premium homes and high-end holiday lets.
Prices on request. Every property is quoted to its size, complexity and location.
Commercial
Property and holiday-let photography, drone surveys of land and construction, product shots, headshots, brand videos and monthly social content that keeps your business visible, plus logo design, websites, SEO and social media support.
Personal
Relaxed portraits, pet photography, weddings and celebrations, family videos, and restoration of treasured old photos. Pictures you'll want on the wall, not just on your phone.

About
The Jay Behind the Focus
I'm Jason, a Suffolk-based photographer and videographer working across East Anglia.
Before photography became my business, I spent nearly 30 years at the top of my field in cloud computing and AI technologies. That shows in how I work: planned shoots, kit I know inside out, and an editing workflow built on current platforms so files arrive on time and in the formats you need.
I combine a camera on the ground, a drone in the air and action cameras where the job needs them. For a property that means the rooms, the grounds and the setting in one visit. For a family or a pet it means relaxed sessions in places you love, from the coast to your own garden.
East Anglia gives me a lot to work with: big skies, flint villages, the Broads and the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Whether you're selling a home, filling a holiday let, growing a business or celebrating your family, I'd like to help you show yours at its best.
You deal with me from the first message to the final file. No call centres, no handovers, and no surprises on the invoice.

What Clients Say
Feedback from estate agents, businesses and families I've worked with. Every review comes from a real client and is shared with their permission.

REVIEWS list in the page script, with their permission. The placeholders disappear once a group has a real review.
How Reviews Work
- Real Clients Only. Every review comes from someone I've produced photos or video for. None are written or paid for.
- Shared with Permission. Reviews are quoted using a first name and town, or a business name, and only with the client's agreement.
- In Their Own Words. Long reviews may be shortened, but the wording is never changed.
- Worked with Me? I'd love to hear how it went. Send your feedback and let me know if I can share it here.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about prices, turnaround, drone flights, sessions and your files. Can't see your question? Send it to me and I'll reply.
Business & Property
How much does property photography cost?
Property shoots are priced as Bronze, Silver and Gold packages, quoted to the size, complexity and location of the property. Send a few details and I'll reply with a fixed price before anything is booked.
How quickly will I receive my photos?
Edited property photos are delivered online, usually within 48 hours of the shoot. Video and larger projects are agreed with you when you book, and rush delivery is available.
Do you photograph holiday lets and Airbnbs?
Yes, holiday lets are a specialism. Packages include interiors, exteriors, drone aerials of the setting and short social reels, with optional seasonal refreshes to keep listings current.
How should a property be prepared for the shoot?
Clear worktops and surfaces, open curtains and blinds, switch on lights, move cars off the drive and keep pets out of the way. I'll send a short checklist when you book.
Do you use drones, and is it legal near me?
Yes. Every drone flight is planned around CAA rules and local airspace, including the airfields and airports across East Anglia. If a location can't be flown, I'll tell you before the shoot and suggest alternatives.
Can I use the images on Rightmove, Zoopla, Airbnb and social media?
Yes. Property images come with a licence to market that property on listing sites, your website and social media. Ask me if you'd like to use them for anything else.
Do you work with letting agents, landlords and developers?
Yes. Letting agents, landlords and developers use the same Bronze, Silver and Gold packages, with a consistent style across every property so your listings look professional.
Can you build or look after my website?
Yes. I design and build websites, host them securely in the cloud and keep them updated, and can help with SEO, your Google Business Profile and social media so customers can find you. I also design logos and corporate style guides so your brand looks consistent everywhere.
Do you offer regular content for businesses?
Yes. Monthly content packages give you a regular supply of photos and short videos for your website and social channels.
Personal Sessions
Where do sessions take place?
Wherever suits you: at home, in your garden, or at a favourite beach, park or woodland across East Anglia. I'm happy to suggest locations.
What should we wear?
Comfortable clothes in plain colours that sit well together. Avoid large logos and busy patterns. I'll send a short guide before your session.
My dog won't sit still. Can you still get good photos?
Almost certainly. Pet sessions are relaxed and unhurried, and fast autofocus and shutter speeds mean energetic dogs make some of the best action shots.
Can you restore an old photo without a shoot?
Yes. Send a scan or a clear phone photo of the original and I'll quote before starting. Restored images can be delivered as files, prints or canvases.
Booking & Delivery
Which areas do you cover?
I'm based in Suffolk and cover Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, including Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Colchester and Cambridge. Travel further afield is available on request.
How do I book?
Send a few details through the contact form. I'll reply with availability and a fixed quote, and your date is confirmed in writing once you're happy.
Can you shoot at short notice?
Often, yes. Send your preferred date through the contact form and I'll confirm availability. Rush delivery is also available when you need the files quickly.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Outdoor and drone shoots depend on the weather. If rain or wind would spoil the results, we'll agree the next suitable date.
Who owns the photos and how can I use them?
I keep copyright, as is standard, and you receive a licence to use the images for the purpose agreed, such as your property listing, website, social media or personal prints. Wider licensing is available.
How long do you keep my files?
Edited files are backed up for 12 months after delivery and unedited originals for 3 months, so please download and keep your own copies. The privacy statement has the full details.

At a Glance
- I only collect what I need to quote, shoot, deliver and invoice your work.
- I never sell your information or use it for advertising.
- Identifiable people only appear in my portfolio with written consent.
- Your images are backed up for 12 months after delivery, then securely deleted.

What I Collect
- Contact Details. Your name, email address, phone number and, for shoots at your home or premises, the address.
- Booking Details. The service, date, location, shot list, and notes you give me, such as names of family members or pets to include.
- Payment & Business Records. Invoices, payments received and correspondence. I don't store card details; payments are handled by your bank or the payment provider.
- Photographs & Video. Images of you, your family, guests, staff, pets, property and products taken during a shoot, including aerial footage.
- Consent Records. Model releases and any consent you give for portfolio or marketing use.
- Messages. Enquiries and messages you send through the website contact form or social media.
I don't collect information I don't need. I don't use facial recognition, and I don't sort or tag images by people's identity.
Where Your Information Comes From
Most information comes directly from you, when you get in touch, book or attend a shoot. Sometimes it comes from someone else:
- The Person Who Booked. For example, a couple planning a wedding, a family member booking a portrait session, or an estate agent arranging access to a property.
- Your Employer. When a business books headshots, team photos or event coverage that includes you.
- The Shoot Itself. Guests at an event, or people and vehicles captured by chance in the background or from the air.
When I receive your details from someone else, I only use them for that booking.
Why I Use It & on What Lawful Basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote | Legitimate interests (responding to people who contact me), or steps before a contract |
| Planning, carrying out, editing and delivering your shoot | Contract |
| Invoicing and keeping tax and accounting records | Legal obligation |
| Keeping backup copies of your images for the period below | Contract and legitimate interests (protecting your images against loss) |
| Showing identifiable images of people in my portfolio, website or social media | Consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Showing property, product or landscape images with no identifiable people | Legitimate interests (promoting my business), subject to our agreement |
| Protecting the website and enquiry form from spam and abuse, including the hCaptcha check | Legitimate interests (security) |
| Defending or making legal claims | Legitimate interests |
I won't send you marketing emails unless you've asked to receive them, and every message will include a way to stop.
Images of People, Children & Drone Footage
- Portfolio Use. I only use identifiable images of you, your family or your guests in my portfolio, website or social media with your written consent. Saying no doesn't affect your booking.
- Children. I photograph children only with the agreement of a parent or guardian. I never publish a child's name, school or location, and I don't use images of children for marketing without the explicit written consent of a parent or guardian.
- Business Clients. When a business books a shoot that includes staff or customers, the business is responsible for telling those people and getting any consent needed for how it uses the images.
- Drone Flights. I fly in line with Civil Aviation Authority rules and plan flights to avoid capturing people who aren't involved. If people, vehicle number plates or neighbouring gardens are captured by chance, I crop, blur or remove them before images are published. If you think you've been captured, contact me and I'll check and act on your request.
- Sensitive Details. Images can sometimes show things like health, religion or beliefs, for example, at a christening. I treat every image as confidential and only use it for the purpose agreed.
Backing Up Your Images & How Long I Keep Information
Your images are protected from the moment they're taken. Memory cards are kept until every file has been copied to two separate places: an encrypted local drive and an encrypted cloud backup in a different location. Cards are only cleared after both copies have been checked.
After delivery, I keep backup copies for the periods below. During that time, if you lose your files, I'll send them again free of charge. When the period ends, I securely delete my copies, so please download your images promptly and keep your own copies in at least two places.
| Information | How long I keep it |
|---|---|
| Edited, delivered photos and videos | 12 months from the delivery date |
| Unedited original files (raw photos and footage) | 3 months from the delivery date |
| Online delivery gallery or download link | Available for 30 days from delivery |
| Enquiries that don't lead to a booking | 12 months from our last contact |
| Website security logs, including IP addresses | 30 days |
| Contracts, invoices and payment records | 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, to meet HMRC record-keeping and legal requirements |
| Portfolio images used with your consent | Until you withdraw consent |
| Model releases and consent records | For as long as the image is used, plus 6 years |
Longer archiving can be arranged as an add-on before the backup period ends. Holiday-let and business clients on a retainer keep access for as long as the retainer runs. If you'd like your images deleted sooner, ask me and I'll do it unless I need to keep a record for legal or tax reasons.
I take reasonable care to protect backups but can't guarantee against every possible loss, such as damage to storage beyond my control. My liability for lost files is limited to the fee you paid for the shoot.
How I Keep It Secure
- Computers, drives and phones are encrypted and password protected.
- Business accounts use strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication.
- Delivery galleries use private links, with passwords where needed.
- Only I have access to client files unless you've agreed otherwise.
If a data breach is likely to put your rights at risk, I'll report it to the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours, and I'll tell you without delay if the risk to you is high.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access a copy of the information I hold about you
- Correct information that's wrong or incomplete
- Have information deleted where there's no good reason to keep it
- Restrict how I use your information while a concern is resolved
- Object to uses based on legitimate interests, including any marketing
- Receive your information in a common format to pass to someone else
- Withdraw consent at any time, such as for portfolio use. I'll remove images from my website and social media within 30 days. Printed materials already produced can't be recalled.
To use any of these rights, send a request through the contact form, choosing ‘Ask a question’. It's free, and I'll reply within one month. I may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Your Choices
- Giving Your Details. You don't have to, but I need your name and a way to contact you to reply to an enquiry, and booking details to carry out a shoot. Without them I can't provide the service.
- Portfolio & Reviews. Saying no to portfolio use, or to your review being quoted on my website, never affects your booking. Reviews are only quoted with your permission, using your first name and town unless you agree otherwise.
- Marketing. I only send news or offers if you've asked for them, and every message has a way to stop.
- Automated Decisions. I don't make decisions about you by automated means or use profiling.
This Website & Cookies
- This website doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, and doesn't track you.
- It remembers whether you last viewed Business or Personal offerings, stored only on your own device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
- Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your device's IP address when the page loads.
- The enquiry form sends your details over an encrypted connection to my enquiry service, run on Amazon Web Services in London. Your enquiry is emailed to me with a copy to you, and stored securely for 12 months before being deleted automatically.
- To protect the form from abuse, technical logs including your IP address are kept for 30 days.
- To block spam, the enquiry form uses hCaptcha. It loads only once you start filling in the form, and it may collect information about your device and browser, including your IP address, and use cookies or similar storage to tell people from bots. hCaptcha is a US company, and its privacy policy explains how it handles this information.
- Links to YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Questions, Complaints & Changes
If you have a question or concern about how I've handled your information, please contact me through the contact form first and I'll do my best to put it right.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Accessibility statement
Accessibility Statement for Jay's Focus Media
I want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. This statement explains how accessible the site is, what I tested, the problems I know about and how to tell me about anything I've missed. Last updated: 30 October 2026.
At a Glance
- The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
- It partially meets that standard: the parts I control passed my testing, but the spam check on the contact form, run by a third party, may be difficult for some visitors.
- The testing was my own. The site hasn't yet been audited independently or tested by disabled users.
- If anything is hard to use, tell me and I'll help another way.
Using This Website
You should be able to:
- Zoom In. Zoom up to 400% without text spilling off the screen or needing to scroll sideways, except for two wide tables in the privacy statement.
- Use a Keyboard. Reach every link, button and form field with the keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline. A ‘Skip to main content’ link appears on the first press of Tab.
- Use a Screen Reader. Move around using headings and page regions, with descriptions for meaningful images and labels for every form field and button.
- Read Comfortably. Text and controls meet the WCAG contrast ratios in both the light and dark themes, and the site follows your device's light or dark setting.
- Stop Movement. Pause the portfolio slideshow with its Pause button. It stops automatically if you've asked your device to reduce motion, and animations are switched off too.
- Change Text Spacing. Increase line, letter and word spacing without losing content.
AbilityNet's My Computer My Way explains how to make your own device easier to use.
Known Limitations
- Spam Check on the Contact Form. The form uses hCaptcha to block spam. It usually needs one tick, but it can sometimes ask you to pick out pictures, which can be hard or impossible with a screen reader or low vision. hCaptcha offers an accessibility option, but you have to register with hCaptcha to use it. If the check stops you, send me a message on Instagram or LinkedIn at @JaysFocusMedia instead and I'll treat it exactly like a form enquiry. This doesn't fully meet WCAG success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content), which asks for an alternative way to complete a CAPTCHA.
- Date Picker. The preferred date field uses your browser's own date picker, which varies between browsers and isn't equally easy to use with every screen reader. You can type the date instead, or leave the field blank and mention your dates in the Details box.
- Wide Tables. Two tables in the privacy statement scroll sideways on narrow screens. You can scroll each table with the keyboard after tabbing to it.
- Other Websites. Links to YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok take you to sites I don't control, which have their own accessibility statements.
Photos, Video & New Content
This is a photography business, so images matter. Every portfolio photo and blog cover is published with a text description, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
There's no video on the website yet. When I add video, it will have captions, and a transcript or audio description where the pictures carry information that the sound doesn't. Videos on my YouTube channel will have captions.
Grey placeholder cards in the portfolio and reviews sections mark where work and reviews will appear. They are labelled as samples and contain no information you'd miss.
How I Tested This Website
I tested the site myself on 30 October 2026, against WCAG 2.2 level AA:
- Automated Checks. Every page, including the blog posts, search and the mobile menu, checked with the axe-core accessibility engine, in light and dark themes, at phone and desktop sizes.
- Keyboard Checks. Every page tabbed through forwards and backwards in Chromium, checking that each item can be reached, shows a visible focus outline and isn't hidden behind the header.
- Layout Checks. Pages checked at 320 pixels wide (equivalent to 400% zoom) and with increased text spacing, plus contrast checks on every text colour and focus outline, and a 24 by 24 pixel minimum size for buttons and links.
Automated and scripted tests can't find every problem. The site hasn't yet been tested with a range of screen readers or by disabled people, and I'd welcome feedback from anyone who uses assistive technology.
Feedback & Other Formats
If you find a problem I haven't listed, or you need anything on this website in a different format, such as plain text or large print, please tell me through the contact form (choose ‘Ask a question’), or message @JaysFocusMedia on Instagram or LinkedIn.
I'll reply within 5 working days. Tell me the page and what went wrong, and I'll fix the problem or find another way to get you what you need.
If you're not happy with my response, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) gives free advice on the Equality Act 2010.
Keeping This Statement Up to Date
I check accessibility whenever I make significant changes to the site and review this statement at least once a year. It was last updated on 30 October 2026 and will next be reviewed by October 2027.
Sustainability statement
Sustainability Statement for Jay's Focus Media
Jay's Focus Media is a one-person business, so its footprint is small, but photography, video and websites still use travel, equipment, energy and data storage. This statement explains what I do to keep that impact down, and what I don't claim. Last updated: 30 October 2026.
At a Glance
- Run from a 1980s home I've personally modernised into a sustainable powerhouse.
- Travel by public transport where possible, or by electric vehicle charged from my own renewable energy.
- One visit for photos, drone and video, planned to cut travel.
- A paperless business: files are delivered digitally, and photographs are only printed when a customer needs prints.
- Cloud storage and hosting in UK regions, for data sovereignty and a lower-carbon electricity mix.
- No more data stored than needed: unedited files are deleted after 3 months and edited files after 12.
- A lightweight, tracker-free website and a contact form that only uses computing power when someone sends an enquiry.
- I don't claim to be carbon neutral or net zero, and I don't buy offsets to make that claim.
My Approach
I'm a passionate advocate for the environment. Alongside photography, I provide thought leadership and innovative solutions that help enterprises reduce the carbon footprint of their IT, and I apply the same principles to my own business.
Jay's Focus Media operates from a 1980s house that I've personally modernised into a sustainable powerhouse, generating and storing its own renewable energy. My book, From Cold to Gold, tells the full story of that transformation.
Shoots & Travel
- Low-emission Travel. I use public transport where possible. Otherwise I travel by electric vehicle, charged from my own renewables: usually solar generation, or battery storage charged on an off-peak tariff, to reduce the impact further.
- One Visit, Not Several. Interiors, exteriors, drone aerials and video are captured in a single appointment, so neither of us makes repeat trips.
- Working Locally. Most work is across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. I group shoots in the same area on the same day where I can, and plan routes before setting off.
- Planning Ahead. Weather, light and airspace are checked before the shoot, so wasted journeys and reshoots are rare.
- Calls Before Visits. Quotes, planning and reviews are handled through the contact form, email and video calls rather than site visits, unless a visit is genuinely needed.
Equipment
- Buy Well, Keep Longer. I choose durable kit and look after it, repairing equipment before replacing it.
- Rechargeable Power. Cameras, drones and lights run on rechargeable batteries, which are cared for to extend their life and recycled properly at the end of it.
- Responsible Disposal. Equipment I no longer need is sold or passed on for reuse where possible, and otherwise recycled through approved electrical waste schemes.
Paperless Working, Files & Printing
- Paperless by Default. Quotes, bookings, invoices and records are all handled digitally.
- Digital Delivery. Photos and videos are delivered electronically, so there are no discs, drives or packaging to post.
- Only What's Needed. I edit and deliver the selection you need, not every frame, and don't store data longer than necessary. Unedited originals are deleted 3 months after delivery and edited files after 12 months, as set out in the privacy statement.
- Sized for Purpose. Files are prepared at the right size for where they're going, which keeps listings, websites and social posts fast to load.
- Prints Only When Required. I only ever print photographs when a customer needs prints, books or canvases, and I'll choose recycled or responsibly sourced materials where they're available.
Cloud, Websites & Data
My background is in cloud computing, where I've focused on running technology efficiently and sustainably. I apply the same thinking here, and to the websites I build for clients:
- Cloud First, in the UK. I rely on cloud services rather than on-site servers for data storage, website hosting and more, using UK regions to keep data in the UK and benefit from the UK's increasingly low-carbon electricity mix.
- Lightweight Pages. The home page loads in well under half a megabyte. Images are compressed, blog images load only when needed, and there are no adverts or tracking scripts.
- Computing on Demand. The contact form runs on serverless services in Amazon Web Services' London region, which only use computing power when someone sends an enquiry, rather than a server running all day.
- Dark Mode. The site follows your device's dark setting, which can use less power on many phone screens.
- For Clients. Websites I build follow the same principles: optimised images, minimal code, efficient hosting and no unnecessary data kept.
Helping Clients Reduce Their Impact
- Fewer Wasted Viewings. Clear photos, walkthrough video and floor plans help buyers and guests decide before they travel.
- Inspections from the Air. A drone can give a first look at roofs and structures without scaffolding or access equipment, and repeat flights can track progress without repeated site visits.
- Lasting Assets. A well-planned shoot produces images that work across listings, websites, social media and print, so fewer shoots are needed overall.
What I Don't Claim
This statement describes practical steps, not a certification. I haven't calculated a full carbon footprint for the business, I don't describe it as carbon neutral or net zero, and I don't use offsets to balance emissions. If that changes, I'll explain how the figures were worked out.
Feedback & Reviews
If you have ideas or questions about any of this, or need a shoot planned around particular environmental requirements, please get in touch through the contact form (choose ‘Ask a question’).
I review this statement at least once a year. It was last updated on 30 October 2026 and will next be reviewed by October 2027.
